The English Riviera Walking Festival Returns 4 – 19 May 2024

Step ahead with the English Riviera Walking Festival which returns from 4 – 19 May 2024. Residents and visitors are invited to a friendly two-week celebration of South Devon’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The festival is organised by the English Riviera BID Company in partnership with Torbay Council and boasts an exciting lineup of 25 half and full day coastal walks led by experienced and enthusiastic local guides. The English Riviera (Torquay, Paignton and Brixham) is a walker’s paradise, with its mild climate and numerous walking trails through woodland and along the South West Coast Path.

This dog-friendly festival offers something for walkers of all abilities, ranging from a 1.5-mile sunset stroll to a 15-mile coastal challenge. Solo travellers, couples, families, and groups will have the opportunity to discover the English Riviera’s hidden gems, to breathe in the fresh sea air and embrace the natural beauty of the area. Festival organiser Graham Kerr says, “This year's Walking Festival programme is the biggest and the best ever. Come and experience one of Earth's extraordinary places.”

English Riviera Air Show

1st - 2nd June 2024

The English Riviera Airshow which is taking place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June will once again host the best, noisiest and most exciting RAF display teams.

Back for the first time since 2019, the RAF Typhoon will roar across the sky on both days, showcasing its pure power and agility. A marvel of modern engineering, the noise, speed, and bright engine glow, the RAF Typhoon is guaranteed to thrill crowds.

To celebrate their 60th display season, the RAF Red Arrows, return to the English Riviera with their full nine-ship team. The iconic crimson jets, with their synchronised manoeuvres, will streak across the Bay on Saturday 1 June.

The RAF Red Arrows, UK display season is reduced this summer, as the team head to North America in August, meaning the English Riviera Airshow were incredibly lucky to secure them for another year.

The Battle of Britain Memorial flight, made up of the Lancaster, Spitfire, and Hurricane will gracefully display together on both days. Their gentle engine purrs pay homage to our history and the valour of those who defended our skies during World War II. A fitting tribute as the nation marks the 80th Anniversary in the D-Day landings later in June.

As the RAF headliners are announced, English Riviera Airshow fans are encouraged to ‘Make a Weekend of it’. In addition to the two-days of world class flying action, the on the ground part of the event is shaping up to be bigger and better than before. For the first time a static Spitfire, sponsored by the English Riviera Events Collective will be on Paignton Green, alongside dozens of south west traders, businesses, and exhibitors.

Local sponsors, businesses, and supporters have played a huge role in securing the 2024 English Riviera Airshow. Their generous support whether that be financial or in-kind by providing essential event infrastructure, has demonstrated the value of the Airshow to the economy.

Support options are still available for small businesses and anyone who enjoys watching the English Riviera Airshow through either the ‘Patron’ or ‘Friends of’ schemes. Support options are priced at either £15.00 or £65.00. Details of ways to get involved and show your support can be found at: https://englishrivieraairshow.co.uk/
